FAQs

Do I need a permit to ship samples to the U.S.A.?

Yes, you will need an import permit from the U.S. Customs department for all soil and plant material entering the U.S.A.

Attaining the permit is a simple process and is arranged by us as part of our service to you.

You generally won’t need a permit to export out of your respective country. The exception to this is Thailand. We recommend using DHL for water samples and Thai EMS Post for soil samples to avoid restrictions when shipping out of Thailand.

What size core sampler do I need to collect the samples?

You may use any size core sampler you have on hand, as long as you gather enough material to comply with the minimum number of sub-samples and sample size requirements as mentioned in the data sheets above.

We do recommend that you also continue to use the same size core sampler for all future tests to maintain sample consistency.

Do the soil samples need to be dried before shipping?

Ideally, yes. We recommend drying all soil samples as soon as possible after collection to limit chemical and biological interactions within the sample in the time between collection and arrival at the lab.

If I have questions regarding the test report, sampling procedure or selecting the right test, where should I go?

Please feel free to contact us at any time via one of the many options on our website if you have any questions regarding the process. We are also happy to discuss the current challenges you are facing and can help you plan a management strategy to overcome them.
